To become a member of the St. Joseph County Bar Association, you must be a licensed attorney in either Indiana, Michigan, or both; or a paralegal, practicing in St. Joseph County or surrounding counties. False information or submission of this application is forbidden.
Annual Bar dues are:
- $125.00 Standard Membership
First Year Attorney
Attorneys in Practice 2-3 years
- $50.00 Paralegals
- $20.00 Students
- Free of
Charge to all retired attorneys or members of the judiciary.
Payment should be made payable to St. Joseph County Bar Association and mailed to Executive Director, St. Joseph County Bar Association, 101 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana 46601.
Once your application is approved, your biographical information will be added to our web site and our printed directory which is distributed periodically throughout the year.
If you wish to submit a photo, we ask that you submit it in .tif, .gif,. jpg or .bmp digital format to either the Executive Director with your payment or you may e-mail it to the webmaster. If you do not have a photo in digital format, a regular photograph may be submitted with your payment. If you wish your photo to be returned, please enclosed a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
There are many practical benefits for becoming a student member of the St. Joseph County Bar Association.
Besides meeting attorneys who practice law in our area, a student may develop the student membership
section by taking a leadership role. There are also numerous networking and education opportunities for
- Committees—This is an opportunity for service. But it is also an opportunity to network and get to know
better some of the members of the Bar who practice in your area of interest. The time commitment is
minimal, but the rewards can be substantial.
- Continuing Education—Students may participate in any of the offered CLE seminars offered by the St.
Joseph County Bar Association. Students receive the same discount offered to member attorneys.
- Publications—Students will receive the monthly bar newsletter.
- Networking—Student members may attend any of the bar association events and may do so at the subsidized
member rates. The association offers various educational, social and athletic events.
